Not only is Don Hockenbury one of the most experienced print production executives in the area, with nearly 40 years at Garlich Printing Company, but he also is one of the industry's most respected leaders – and a pretty good shot to boot. Don is vice president of production at Garlich and a former board member of both the Printing Industries of St. Louis and Print America.
When Don's not busy guiding Garlich and the industry at large through significant technological advances in the past decade, he's enjoying any chance to exercise his competitive side – such as his recent "Top Gun" win at the Print America Sporting Clay Shoot-Off against nationally ranked professional skeet shooter David Pitts. (We've heard there's a rematch in the planning stages – Garlich will naturally be printing the tickets once the details are finalized.)
Don is a graduate of Kansas' Pittsburg State University and a veteran of the U.S. Air National Guard. Now a resident of Wildwood, Mo., he and his wife have two children and are active members and volunteers at West County Community Church. Don also serves as a committee member, sponsor and volunteer with the annual St. Louis pro sports-based Christian Family Day, and he enjoys doing just about anything outdoors.
