Garlich Printing Certified as GMI Qualified Printer

 What is GMI certificate?

Graphic Measures International (GMI) certification is a process that holds packaging suppliers accountable to established brand owner color standards. Companies like Home Depot, Target, CVS and Walgreen’s only work with GMI certified printers to ensure that their packaging looks consistent all over the world.

Front-end certification takes three to five weeks to complete. But, it is only the beginning of the oversight that gives brand owners the assurance of manufacturing quality they want.

How did Garlich Printing get GMI certified?

The certification process consists of a rigorous on-site evaluation, performed by a certified GMI engineer, verifying and validating the print packaging supplier’s ability to deliver consistent quality results to Retail PQA standards measured through a scientific color management system

The GMI Certification stands for Graphic Measures International (GMI) certification. It is a process that holds packaging suppliers accountable to established brand owner color standards. This certification process consists of rigorous evaluations by GMI, who assess your quality and standards of packaging, it’s material, dimensions, and their ability to deliver consistently according to Retail standards measured through a scientific color management system. GMI evaluates five key components: process control and documentation, equipment maintenance, training procedures, operator capability and equipment performance. Post Certification activities involve all production runs for Retail private brands through sampling sent to GMI for evaluation prior to batch release. This ensures repeatable print packaging quality and accordingly protecting Retail brands. This certification is a prerequisite for many manufacturers to contract with packaging vendors. This certification highlights our facilitates, current capabilities and equipment.
